My TVs all live in abject fear during the news. They’re very lucky they haven’t been Elvis’d yet.
The MADD folks are already out and about, checking for popular reaction to today’s press release. It only took about 2 hours to get a comment from someone from MADD in Florida.
I’m generally conservative, so I hate it when people meddle too much, but seriously – I’m still waiting to hear of a downside to this.
If one holds that municipalities should use whatever resources necessary to stop illegal immigration, then one can also hold that municipalities and organizations should use whatever resources to curb drunk driving.
So you’re OK with having your vehicle scan you for alcohol before it starts?
And you would trust this technology to be 100% reliable and unobtrusive?
Really, I have no use for lawbreakers of either type. But this is the equivalent of searching me everytime I go out in public because SOMEONE ELSE has broken the law. I’m not the one they need to be hassling and it flies in the face of our cherished legal tradition of requiring probable cause before searching someone.
