This saying has been bugging me for a while:

Guns cause crime like flies cause garbage.

This pithy little quote is popular among some in the pro-gun community, but I have to admit that it bugs me greatly.  I understand the sentiment, but most people (rightly so) have a fairly negative view of flies.  The quote just comes across as trashy to me.
